Located in a wild botanical garden set among the mountains of Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, Hyunam House is, as you’d expect, all about the views. With 125 square metres to work with IROJE Architects designed the house around pre-existing artificial grounds built by the homeowner. Looking out across an expanse of fir trees, among many highlights, the centrepiece of this contemporary build is the stepped entrance; a sloping steel structure leading up to an incredible glass viewing room. Removing focus from the build itself, a concept based around disguise, IROJE state “no architectural concept exists there, only you and nature in complete silence.”
