“Beautiful products with commitment to an excellence in craftsmanship, quality and design,” Drake’s of London presents Fall/Winter 2015 with its usual easy elegance. Friend of the brand, writer Jason Jules, on modelling duty, the extensive line ranges from refined to casual, mixing textures and subdued shades across accessories and staples. While touches of Italian and American trad play their part, the selection is, both in terms of look and production, British to its core; Drake’s cleverly simplifying the rather tricky world of classical style for the contemporary customer. All made in its Somerset factory, alongside its usual neckwear-approriate options, the label introduces three relaxed cuts to its popular shirting range: Oxford cloth button downs, poplin cloth spread collars, popovers and tunics with fabrics including blue pin cord and olive brushed cotton.
Alongside cosy brushed shetland crewnecks and cardigans in rich hues, cold weather layers include a tartan lined Gloverall dufflecoat, longer-length peacoats, ribbed Donegal wool beanies and lambswool gloves. Ties, scarves and pocket squares come in the usual range of intricate patterns, the particularly striking “Kelim” print reappearing in lightweight wool. With its 35 years of experience clearly on show, Drake’s winning formula and open approach continues to win over fans worldwide. Shop the range online.
