“A morning-to-afternoon hangout, serving you products from around the world, simply, and with a smile,” Amsterdam Coffee stop, TOKI, positively encourages loitering; its laid-back ethos asking customers to take a ‘slow’ approach. Recently opening its doors in the Jordaan district, an area packed full of handsome independents including denim temple, Tenue de Nîmes , founder Jeff Flink swapped a career in advertising to create a cafe offering that Sunday feeling all week long.
Attention to detail evident throughout the 90 square meter layout, TOKI calls on some of our personal favorites for furnishings with Max Lamb’s incredible synthetic “Marmoreal” marble found across the space alongside Stephen Kenn’s Truck sofas and Americana trinkets from Shinola. While tunes are streamed via a limited edition Blue Note PLAY:1 Sonos system, visuals come courtesy of local creative studio HarrimanSteel BV, the talented folk behind TOKI’s cheerful and unfussy identity. An international food and drink selection with a little something to suit everyone, expect coffee from Berlin’s Bonanza, tea from Brooklyn’s BelloCQ, Crate craft beer from East London with Amsterdam’s very own Granola for Gangsters and Petit Gateau Pastries providing snacks. More than enough reason to stay a while.
